We do not justify bad behaviour by pointing out it exists in other forms! My point is that while we're at a point of frontier models built on billions of nodes being able to carry on activities like generating content of all sorts, even multi-modally, we are most definitely also in an era where NOT ONE of these companies has any experience actually ensuring these things are safe from abuse, or from generating abuse!! Money trumps all, and clearly these companies are gleefully cashing in the billions, but also, there are terribly behind and reckless on safety.
